In Double Vision: Reading Melville and Dickinson, students will have the unique opportunity to read Herman Melville’s epic masterpiece Moby Dick alongside Emily Dickinson’s electrifying lyric poems. Allowing their starkly different but equally visionary works to speak to and through one another, an expansive image of cosmic and microscopic philosophical-spiritual searching in 19th-century American literature emerges.
